Layout Visits – NMRA 2023 National Convention
Welcome to Layout Visits 2023!
Visits to member layouts are a stimulating feature of the NMRA 2023 National Convention. Here you will find all layouts open for inspection. Each layout HOST has agreed to open their layout either before or after the formal Convention sessions on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October.
A feature of the 2023 Convention is Layout Visits over three days:
- Friday 29 September
- Monday 2 October
- Tuesday 3 October
A third day for layout visits is introduced for this convention to give greater opportunity to inspect more layouts, and to allow Hosts to visit layouts they may otherwise miss. For those travelling long distances, the extra day will reduce the rush.
Layout visits are arranged as Sessions depending on the hosts’ ability to give full and fair treatment to each visitor. GUESTS will receive more personalised time at each layout. The sessions are limited by the number of visitors each host can entertain, without making visitors wait at the door until others leave. Some layouts can only accept 3 visitors at a time.
There is a list of HOSTS with their towns/suburbs and a map showing the location of all layouts. As a GUEST at the layouts, you can see the session times and the maximum number of guests for every session. The map will assist to arrange your itinerary between layouts.
Host sessions are generally for Viewing the host’s layout. There are also Operating Sessions for those guests who would like to be part of organised operation. Operating sessions are detailed as part of the Host information.
Some Hosts have indicated special requirements, such as parking limitations, accessibility, duck under, weather restrictions, and family privacy needs. Please use this information wisely. Some Hosts have indicated they may offer refreshments.
