WHO WE ARE
We are a group of people who are model railway enthusiasts who have banded together to form a Model Railway Club (an Incorporated Association). We have members ranging in age from 14 to 86 years with all levels of modelling skills; so our club can offer something to everyone!
We have existed for some 30 years and as our membership has grownsteadily we have been able to successfully exhibited at various venues inboth Northern NSW. and Southern QLD. Part of the resultant proceeds haveassisted various local charitable organizations and community groups. Anysurplus funds have been utilized to build our club’s layouts and othermodelling endeavours.
We are affiliated with the National Model Railroad Association (Australasian Region) as a 100% Club.
WHAT WE DO
The Northern Rivers Model Railroaders Inc. caters for all the varied aspects of the model railroading hobby; some of which include:
- Design and planning layouts
- Scenic Modelling
- Scratch-building bridges & structures from basic materials
- Kit-bashing from commercially purchased models
- Discussion / Video sessions on all facets of model railroad operations
- Conducting “How To Do It” workshops for members.
The list of activities is almost endless. We have a variety of model railway scales, and offer activities for the absolute novice and to those who wish to exercise personal expertise. Some of our members have had over 45 years in the hobby.
WHERE WE OPERATE
We meet at various members places for operating sessions and hold social gatherings throughout the year and participate in numerous model train exhibitions throughout Northern NSW and Southern QLD promoting our hobby.
