Layout Description

Penny Creek Railway is a freelance modern Australian standard gauge railway servicing coal, container and steel traffic as well as local cement, fuel and miscellaneous minor traffic.

Coal from Penny Creek Coal is transported to Wellstan Power Station (loads in/empties out scheme).

Pacific National service coal and steel traffic. QR National operates through container traffic as well as using old InterRail equipment for local fuel and Cement.

Southern Shorthaul Railroad services local container and miscellaneous traffic through container facilities at Penny Creek and a small operation at Loraine.

Passenger service by DMU occurs and there are heritage rail train operations at times.

The railway is a folded dog-bone configuration with visible 5 track staging yard representing Rochfort Bridge in one direction and Peterton in the other. Construction is generally complete with general scenery 90% finished. Detailing of scenery and some structures is a project for further down the track.

Control is NCE DCC with RPi JMRI interface for WiFi throttles.
