New Mexico Division, Circa 1950 in HO by Phil Moore
The layout represents the Santa Fe railway in New Mexico and Colorado. The area that I model is the route over Raton & Glorieta Passes. This Route was predominately the passenger route for most of the transcontinental passenger trains and was known as the Northern Route. The layout is located in my basement with walk in access from the garage. Designed for walk around operation it will incorporate seven separate scene dividers in strategic locations.
The line is single track with 19′ passing tracks in correct locations as per the actual track plan in the areas modelled. The era is in the latter days of steam with both steam and diesel present. All locomotives will be sound equipped with prototype functional lights and classification lights.
