Located in Loganholme QLD, our special interest is scratch-building all types of models found in model railways including wagons, locomotives and structures.
The objectives of the Scratch Building SIG are to share knowledge and skills in the production of hand crafted models using a variety of materials. To learn, teach and impart technical knowledge to beginners and more experienced modellers in a positive environment to help further the hobby of model railways.
Training in the use of tools and equipment relative to scratch building ensures safe work practices and to plan and develop ongoing presentations, training sessions and projects for the group to challenge our skills.
Provide an environment that encourages all members of the group to try a variety of scratch-building projects with support and guidance from the group. To display the group’s projects at exhibitions or conventions to help promote the hobby of model railways and highlight the efforts of our members.
