Missouri Pacific Lines – Sedalia Sub-division

USA – Missouri Pacific (1984)

Layout Description

The layout is a two level point to point layout from the midwest town of Sedalia, the starting point yard on the bottom deck, to the city of St. Louis, the final destination on the top deck.

It is single track with passing loops at major centres along the way. Control is via Digitrax DCC and with Engine Driver(Mobile Phone app) via WIFI .

Construction started in 2007 and is about 95% done. We run operations occasionally , but my Friday Nighters group meets regularly to chat, show off new stuff.

Operations are quite casual, as room in the shed can be cramped. Operation is by way of switch lists & train orders with a signal system and involves several through manifests (Containers, TOFC, unit coal & Mixed freight) and local switchers for the on-line industries.

There is also an appearance from the Union Pacific railroad, the Missouri-Kansas & Texas Railroad, Cotton Belt and ICG , who all have trackage rights to Kansas City from St Louis.
