HO and N Scale Clubroom layouts and Outdoor G Scale
Layout Description
The Railway Modeller’s Club of Queensland Inc (RMCQ) runs both HO and N scale clubroom layouts. The HO layout is about 12m x 7m in size, and consists of multiple decks and has both 16.5mm and 12mm (QR Narrow gauge) track. The 12mm track is only on the top deck. The 16.5mm track is on both decks and access between the decks is via a helix. There is no dual gauge track on this layout. The layout is fully DCC and has well developed scenery on both levels.
The N scale layout is about 10m x 6.5m in size. It it also multiple decks, but the lower deck can host DC trains as well as DCC. The top deck is fully DCC. This layout is also well sceniced.
A new HO layout that caters for 16.5mm and 12mm track is in the process of being built and is 12.5m x 3.1m in size. This will have dual gauge track.
The RMCQ also has a large outdoor layout for our G scale modellers. This can cater for battery equiped locomotives as well as live steam. Many of the locomotives are radio controlled.
The RMCQ clubrooms also has a library, separate meeting area, and a kitchenette area for members to prepare their drinks and meals. The Club has a well stocked tool workshop, and another area for members with HO, HOn and N scale test tracks.
