Phil Knife Model Railway Items For Sale

* Revised list May 2024 *

Phil Knife has been building model railways since the 1950s, and his workmanship and exquisite modelling are widely acclaimed. He is an NMRA Master Modeller, and his work has appeared a number of times in Railway Modeller and Continental Modeller magazines over the years. His particular speciality is building locomotives, some from kits and others modified or scratchbuilt, and many of these have been upgraded to finescale standard. Over the years he has dabbled in British OO, British EM, Irish P4 21mm gauge and OOn3, Swiss HOe and HOm, German HOe, Western Australian Sn3.5, Victorian Railways HO, and US HO, but he is best known for his British modelling.

Unfortunately, health issues have brought Phil’s modelling time to a close. Due to the diverse nature of his collection, there was no easy avenue for its dispersal. Phil has asked me (his brother Peter) to assist with the re-homing of a significant portion of his collection, so the list below shows what is now available for sale..

This revised list includes unsold items from previously, plus a large number of items listed for the first time (these are highlighted in blue). Two small groups of lesser-known items are some British models in H0 (3.5 mm) scale, and some early Triang TT3 items (not to be confused with the recently-introduced TT:120 models from Hornby and Peco). A block of US prototype models are included for the first time, as well as additional VR items.

Offers are invited for items on the list (except those marked as SOLD, of course). All reasonable offers considered, none necessarily accepted. The list will be updated as items are sold.
Click on the Item Description to bring up a photograph in a new window.
Postage will be at cost, and quoted prior to shipping. Please indicate if shipping to an address outside Australia. Payment via direct bank transfer/deposit.

Please quote the Item Number(s) in all communications.
The Gauge column is indicated for complete vehicles, and where the contents of a kit are specific.
The Brand is indicated where known. Other items may be specific brands, but were not identifiable as such.
